Hot Asphalt Recycling

Hot asphalt recycling

The process uses RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement) material which is typically material acquired when asphalt pavement surfaces are planed off prior to repaving or when asphalt is removed during pavement repairs. This material is then loaded into the asphalt recycler where it is heated and tumbled. After approximately 20 minutes of heating, the hot asphalt is typically at 300F and ready for application using the conventional methods. This recycling process allows for a green, cost effective solution that can achieve both base and surface course requirements.

A green, cost effective solution

Hot asphalt recycling technology creates a cost effective, green solution to recycle existing material in a controlled environment on or off site with very little in the way of new material needed. Worn down asphalt that would often be taken off site for disposal can now be recycled into fresh material with properties that match virgin asphalt.

Recycled materials ready to go

At Nigel Price Driveways & Landscaping, we have two RAP machines to provide flexibility to our clients. One static RAP machine based at our HQ where fresh recycled material can be transported to site or a mobile RAP machine which achieves the same high quality recycled asphalt that allows on site mixing and resurfacing at the same location. This ensures that you get a cost effective, flexible solution without the logistical issues.
